Better Derbyshire Dales Fund

Thanks to a grant from the Better Derbyshire Dales Fund, the Ashbourne and District 50+ Forum was able to buy gazebos and display boards for community use.

Already they have had requests from Ashbourne over 60’s, Skegness children’s holiday home organisers and 5 Churchs Together at Carsington Water to borrow the equipment for summer events.

CamTAD recently borrowed the gazebos and raised £100 at their event. John Dick, Ashbourne and District 50+Forum received this message of thanks -: “We would like to offer our sincerest thanks to yourself and the Ashbourne and District 50+ for the use of the gazebo and tables at our recent fundraiser. It really helped to draw the crowds to the stall and gave us shelter from the sun” Simon Keeling, CamTAD – Southern Derbyshire.

The Better Derbyshire Dales Fund will support organisations or specific projects that aim to develop or strengthen communities and/or people’s health and well-being. We are also interested in supporting less popular causes and work that supports disadvantaged and marginalised sections of the community. There is a capital strand that will support village halls, community centres and sports clubs with costs towards improving facilities for their community.

The grants scheme also includes funds from North Derbyshire CCG and Derbyshire County Council Public Health and therefore we welcome applications from community groups doing something that has a health and well-being benefit.

There are quarterly rounds for applications with the next closing date being Friday 3rd November 2017. Please contact Sarah Paisley or Jonathan Simcock at DDCVS for an application form. Tel 01629 812154 or email enquiries@ddcvs.org.uk
