Culture and Heritage small grants from LEADER

Have you a small scale project that will enhance the culture and heritage assets in your area?  Capital grants are available in the rural areas of Derbyshire Dales, High Peak and Staffordshire Moorlands to assist in enhancing the visitor economy and benefitting the local community.  Funding from £2,500 is available for organisations to enhance their local area with small scale investments, closing date for applications 30 September 2018.

Healthy Holidays boost for Matlock estate

A successful bid for almost £10,000 National Lottery Funding is helping Derbyshire Dales District Council run a ‘healthy holidays’ project for youngsters who live on the area’s biggest housing estate in Matlock.

The Hurst Farm Healthy Holidays project has been providing physical play activities and a nutritious meal during the school holidays for more than 100 disadvantaged young people aged 5-16 years.

UK Digital Skills Innovation Fund Launched

The 2017 UK Digital Strategy set out Government’s approach to ensuring that people have the skills they need to participate fully in the digital economy and are prepared for technological change. The Strategy emphasised the need to support people to up-skill and re-skill throughout their working lives and set out the importance of enabling a more diverse digital workforce.

The Greggs Foundation is currently accepting applications from not-for-profit organisations and schools in Great Britain that are seeking funding for an environmental project.

The Greggs Foundation uses the money raised from the 5p levy on carrier bag sales in Greggs shops to provide grants to small not-for-profit organisations and schools in Great Britain for projects that make a difference to local areas.

Free workshops for new Dales businesses

Free coaching workshops are on offer in September for would-be entrepreneurs thinking of starting or growing a business in the Derbyshire Dales.

The three-hour sessions in Bakewell, Wirksworth and Sudbury are being delivered by Growing Rural Enterprise Ltd, which gives business support through the Sheffield City Region (SCR) Launchpad project in partnership with Derbyshire Dales District Council.
