Update from DDCVS – 9.10.20

This week we held our Online Networking for Matlock and surrounding area. We had speakers from Strictly No Falling, Foundation Derbyshire and Derbyshire Borderline Personality Group. It was a really interesting morning and we all went away with a new piece of information or a contact to follow up.

It will soon be time for our Annual General Meeting which is likely to be the middle of November, and on Zoom. If your group is a Member of Derbyshire Dales CVS, you will receive your invitation in due course. If you are thinking about running your own AGM on Zoom, you may find this information from the Charity Commission useful. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-for-the-charity-sector

We have the grants document ths week and you can download the latest version, as a PDF, here. Community Grants.

In terms of community activity in the Dales, we are very happy to discuss any concerns you have about re-starting your activities, or perhaps you are thinking about running your group differently in the short-term.

Firstly, we would encourage you to speak to your usual venue and read over the new guidelines around hiring the space, as this may influence your decision. Secondly, we suggest you talk to both your committee / regular volunteers and your members / participants. We have put together a couple of surveys that you can download as PDFs from our website and use to consult with both your committee and your members. The link for the Committees is here and the separate survey for members is here – this one focuses on what members would like to see in place, for activities to restart.

And, as you will no doubt appreciate, the picture can change at any time. Any questions please contact Sarah or Jonathan at CVS, email enquiries@ddcvs.org.uk

We continue to work a mixture of remotely and in the office so the answerphone, post-box and email address are checked regularly. Please ring or email in advance if you need to arrange to come in to see us as the picture can change. Contact the team on 01629 812154 or email enquiries@ddcvs.org.uk
