Small Grants Schemes at DDCVS
Five Ways to Well-being
We continue to administer a small grants scheme on behalf of Derbyshire County Council, Public Health. This scheme is about increasing the understanding of the ‘Five Ways to Well-being’ by people in the Derbyshire Dales who are at a higher risk of developing mental ill health.
The ‘Five Ways to Well-being’ are a recommended set of evidence-based public health messages which are aimed at improving the mental health and well-being of the population. These ‘Five Ways’ are: – Connect; Be Active; Take Notice; Keep Learning and Give.
There are guidelines to the small grants scheme which explain each of the Five Ways to Well-being more fully and how a project might include or address them, as well as an application form.
If you would like a copy please contact Derbyshire Dales CVS on 01629 812154 or email email@example.com
The next closing date for applications is 30th September 2020.
Better Derbyshire Dales Fund
Many of our members will be familiar with the Better Derbyshire Dales Fund – this small grant scheme is an amalgamation of the scheme we began administering for the Clinical Commissioning Group over 10 years ago which was later supplemented by Public Health.
It has since been further augmented by a fund from Derbyshire Dales District Council and so became the Better Derbyshire Dales Fund in 2015.
It has two strands – capital and revenue – and this means that applicants can apply for a grant to improve village halls; sports clubs and community centres – for example to pay for new windows and doors or new kitchens, etc. The capital strand goes up to a maximum of £5,000.
The revenue strand incorporates all the health funds and the community element of the money from DDDC. The revenue strand can go up to £1,000 and can support all sorts of community activity such as community events, small community groups such as lunch clubs and youth clubs as well as any activities that have a health benefit to the Dales communities.
The next deadline for this fund is Monday 22nd June 2020.
Closing dates for the new financial year 2020-2021 are: –
- Monday 22nd June 2020
- Thursday 12th November 2020
- Thursday 11th February 2021
