Welcome to Rachel Metcalfe
Rachel will be joining the Derbyshire Dales CVS team leading on the new and exciting ‘Community Voice’ Project. Rachel is very familiar with the work of the organisation and through her current role at The Farming Life Centre she has built a really positive working relationship with everyone.
The new role is to provide consistent, timely and accurate information about Covid-19 to the community as well as promoting how we can keep healthy and safe during these challenging times. To help share this information, Rachel will be looking to set up a Community Champion Network throughout the Derbyshire Dales. This will involve recruiting a number of Community Champions who will be key in sharing this information amongst their own networks and beyond – watch this space…!’
Rachel will give regular updates and presentations at various meetings and networking events along with attending DDCVS coffee mornings. Rachel says: ‘Having attended most of these from the start of the first lockdown I know they are a fantastic source of local information and a friendly place to meet others – even if it is virtually! What I think is really important about this project is that it is a two way process. Part of my role is to feedback any issues, concerns or misconceptions to Public Health that have been raised within the community via the Community Champions or through other local groups. This is crucial information which will enable local agencies to understand the impacts of the restrictions and threat of the virus at a neighbourhood level. I look forward to working alongside you and helping to keep our communities safe, healthy and well informed’.
